i finished 6 skeins of handspun and recycled yarns. oh so exciting. i also have so much of a beautiful maroon-copper roving that i plan to ply with either a white cotton or wool and practice spinning from the fold. whats better than a drop spindle and a ball of wool on a sunny day?
here are some hanging in my bathtub to set the twist.
here are the recycled yarns. the ones on the right and left were made from the most horrid sweater in the world. purple and green with orange stripes, ugh! the first measures 53 yds, 2ply with a funky yarn i picked up a jo-anns. the 2nd one 45yds 1.5 oz 50% cotton 50% acrylic. and the last one 70yds, 2oz and 3 ply. 1/3 acrylic and 2/3 cotton. about half way through i found a knot. boo-urns. i love plying recycled yarns. i have bags and bags of yarn and ugly sweaters that alone don't inspire. too many times i've fallen victim to discontinued yarn sales telling myself i'll find something to use this for someday. i want all of my stash to be usable.
this on is my fav outta the bunch. it reminds me of those giant swirl suckers... hmmm candy.
oh and on top of that i'm going to stash bust the ridiculous amount of fabric i have starting off with making these rice heating packs with lavender and pomegranate scent packets. i have terrible back pains so i want to make one that i can wrap around with velcro or something so i can be mobile and crafty.
laters candi
